On April 9, 2011, Macedonian Mission for Humanity (MMH) presented the two award winning documentaries by Marija Makeska, "Soul Mates" & "Get to know us", at the Temple Beth Emet synagogue in Los Angeles. 

Marija Makeska is a Macedonian producer who  graduated at Wayne State University in Detroit .  In 2008 she received a grand from the university and made the first movie about the Jewish people in Macedonia throughout the history. “Get to know us” is a documentary about the Jews who lived, or traveled through the territory and left significant impact in the history of Macedonia .

 

The second movie “Soul Mates” is a story of two young girlfriends, one Jewish, one Christian, who lived in Macedonia during the World War II.  During the war the Jews from Macedonia were taken to the concentration camp in Treblinka.
